I stopped to take a shot of this baseball field if you could call it that. The field is small and made Tup of small rocks or gravel and weeds..This is what the village does for fun. They play tourniments on the weekends. All the games. start late in evenings and last till late.(I guess cause it never gets dark here) I can't help but think how fortunate we all were growing up and playing on grass fields and even then I remember complaining of the conditions of some of those. These people make the best of what they have and enjoy it.

Yesterday was my longest day so far. The morning started over cast and a chance of rain. I was to take a test every 100ft. of a trench that runs the full length of the runway (5200+ft)on both sides that will tie the landing strip lights.I use a machine that uses radiactivity to measure moisture and density of the compacted soil.It can be sensitive to the wet weather so I covered it in plastic baggies and clear tape which worked pretty well for the rest of the day it poured.Iwas soaked by 1:00pm so went back to the lab for some lunch. I have a oven in the lab that is used to dry samples to test for moisture as well, but today I stuffed all my wet clothes in there and that dried them out pretty good so I was more comfprtable when I went back out.this a shot of the runway under construction. There is a temporary runway off to the right.

Sunday I took aride on the bike up to Fairbanks the area there reminds me alot of Idaho, a fairly flat region. It had a walmart and a home depot so I got some things I needed for work and headed back.I arrived back inTok at 1:00 am and I was freezing. I thought it was about 10:00pm I forget it never gets dark here this time of year.

The moose loose their antlers every year so as the season goes on the males will regrow theirs.I have a lab built in a 45' trailer up on a hill over looking the valley below ,the view is awsome.
